Autumn Is Still In Effect

Every season has its own, uniquely special beauty, but there is something about Autumn that sets it apart. Nearly all Americans have treasured memories of watching the trees turn from a uniform green to all varieties of gold, yellow and red as the seasons begin to turn from Summer to Winter. You can almost be blinded by the fiery brilliance of Autumn in full swing. How is it that all of that beauty comes from death and decay, as the world prepares to bed down for a time in the slumber of Winter? There’s a certain sadness in knowing that the changing colors foreshadow the arrival of a long cold winter, but there’s also comfort in knowing that the seasons are changing and the world is reinventing itself again.

In the other gardens
  And all up the vale,
From the autumn bonfires
  See the smoke trail!

Pleasant summer over
  And all the summer flowers,
The red fire blazes,
  The gray smoke towers.

Sing a song of seasons!
  Something bright in all!
Flowers in the summer,
  Fires in the fall!

~ Robert Louis Stevenson

We wish you and yours the most wonderful of seasons!
